75 Years of Bezirksvereinigung Gelsenkirchen of Female and Male Arbitrators

The Bezirksvereinigung Gelsenkirchen in the Bund Deutscher Schiedsmänner und Schiedsfrauen will turn 75 years old this year. It is the merger of the three associations from Gelsenkirchen, Bottrop, and Gladbeck (Emscher-Lippe).

On this occasion, outstanding arbitrators will be honored for their commitment by Mayor Andrea Henze and the Federal Chairwoman of the BDS e. V., Monika Ganteföhr. Representatives of the media are invited to the event.

The honor ceremony will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 4:30 PM in the Hans-Sachs-House, Ratsfoyer at the Westfassade, Ebertstraße 11, 45879 Gelsenkirchen.

The Bezirksvereinigung is the interest group of male and female arbitrators who conduct mediation processes according to the Schiedsamtsgesetz of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the district court area of Essen in the administrative region of Münster. Currently, with 23 arbitrators, approximately 460,000 citizens are supported.

Hunter Exam in August: Hunting and Fisheries Authority Closed

On Tuesday, August 11, the lower hunting and fisheries authority of the city of Gelsenkirchen will be closed due to the ongoing hunter exam. An exhibition or extension of hunting licenses is not possible on this day.

Fishing licenses can still be applied for or extended at the BÜRGERcenters, provided a prior appointment has been made.

Speed Cameras on Monday

The city of Gelsenkirchen regularly publishes its measurement points where speed checks are conducted. On Monday, August 10, 2026, the radar cars will be stationed at the following streets:

• Theodorstraße
• Nattmannsweg
• Adlerstraße
• Marienfriedstraße
• Ringstraße
• Am Bugapark

In addition, speed checks may also take place at other locations within the city area.
